Moul?e's purpose is to point our attention to the vanishing of authenticity in the world. The omnipresent tourism and the global commerce have made sure that there is no such thing as an 'exotic' civilization left. What remains according to Moul?e is Hollywood.

Museums and cemeteries are often compared to each other. It isn't that strange, since many would rather see art buried in museums than have to confront it in their daily lives. Like in Loppem, near Brugge, where the French artist Jean-Luc Moul?e erected photos in poster format in a dozen gardens and immediately confused the City Council. No more Milo's sleeping Venuses or garden elves, but art. Art coloured with a considerable amount of publicity aggression. Or in other words, the public domain...

The photographic work of the French artist Jean-Luc Moul?e explores the sidelines of photographic images. The neatly framed photos and monumental poster blow-ups attached to big Styrofoam walls leave a lasting impression through the unreal and alienating influence they wield on the visitor. The works of Moul?e are unique and clearly deserve more attention in the small world of photography?
